The not so small print

Street-legal is NOT for the faint of heart.

Just because you have a plate doesn’t mean you’ll have 0 risks riding in your town — unfortunately, the laws just aren't that clear.

You may still get pulled over.

That being said, getting hassled is still RARE. Some cops have just never seen an off-road vehicle driving with a plate. Usually, if you explain the statutes and how you got registered, they’ll let you go. We include these for you in our Road To Freedom Guide so that you are always prepared for what to say.

All we're saying is, take these risks into account before you get started. If getting pulled over scares you, stick to the trails. Getting street-legal isn’t for you.

If you’re hell-bent on riding the streets, the Montana LLC route is the best one to take.
